TLU SA is pleased to announce that Prof Andries Raath, emeritus professor of Public Law, has joined the TLU SA team as the manager for the Free State region. Prof Raath is highly esteemed and respected in the legal field, having published numerous works and made significant contributions broadly. TLU SA, along with collaborating agricultural and other organisations, will undoubtedly benefit greatly from Prof Raath\u2019s expertise as a senior professor in administrative and constitutional law concerning legislation on policing, expropriation, and the impact of laws on various aspects of agriculture in South Africa.<\/p>\n
In addition to his responsibilities as regional manager, Prof Raath will apply his knowledge and experience across various committees to align TLU SA\u2019s policies and positions with practice, aiming to establish a healthier agricultural environment.<\/p>\n
Prof Raath is unabashedly committed to the ethos and character of TLU SA. The focus that TLU SA brings to practice, based on our faith in the Triune God as revealed in His Word, the Bible, is precisely what motivated Prof Raath to apply for the position. “If an institution does not build its future on this foundation, all efforts are futile and of no value for the future. Agriculture is too important for impractical policy directions to be toyed with, and it is essential that the aspects that have made South Africa dysfunctional over the past thirty years be corrected.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Executive Committee of TLU SA wishes Prof Raath a blessed period as he serves TLU SA\u2019s farmers and, by implication, all the other commercial farmers in South Africa. The methodology whereby the TLU SA team collectively aligns available expertise with practice based on pure economic principles has increasingly shown that this is the only way to direct the agricultural environment. Commercial farmers across the country are once again invited to throw their weight behind the agricultural organisation that consistently stands up for the principles that will sustain agriculture.<\/p>\n
