Henry Geldenhuys, het terselfdertyd sy ernstige misnoe\u00eb uitgespreek met die feit dat van hierdie moordenaars wat mnr. Johan van Rensburg vermoor het, skynbaar al voorheen vir 15 jaar tronk toe gestuur is vir gewapende roof. \u201cIets is verkeerd in die stelsel dat gevonniste misdadigers voortydig en boonop ongerehabiliteer op borgtog in die samelewing teruggeplaas word om met hulle duiwelswerk voort te gaan. Dit is onaanvaarbaar vir die gemeenskap en is \u2018n klad op die Staat se regsplegende instellings. Strawwe moet so swaar wees dat misdadigers op ho\u00eb ouderdom met \u2018n kierie uit die tronk kom, sodat hy eenvoudig nie in staat is om weer misdaad te kan pleeg nie,\u201d s\u00ea mnr. Geldenhuys. Terselfdertyd is mnr. Geldenhuys bekommerd oor bespiegelinge dat van die boere dalk vir moord aangekla en selfs gearresteer kan word. \u201cHulle het net hulle eie mense en gemeenskap probeer beskerm en waarmee hulle suksesvol was. Om daardie mense nou te vervolg sal \u2018n totaal verkeerde boodskap uitstuur aan misdadigers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHierdie voorval het egter bewys dat landelike gemeenskappe hoogs effektief kan wees as hulle georganiseerd is in hulle eie plaaswagstelsels, met hulle eie kommunikasie- en reaksievermo\u00ebns. TLU SA wil boere bly aanmoedig om ter wille van hulle eie veiligheid hulleself in plaaswagte te organiseer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><span class=\"hps\"><strong>Congratulations to <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"shorttext\"><\/span><span class=\"hps\"><strong>farmers for <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"shorttext\"><\/span><span class=\"hps\"><strong>prompt <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"shorttext\"><\/span><span class=\"hps\"><strong>action<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hps\">TAU<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">SA<\/span> wishes to congratulate the <span class=\"hps\">farmers<\/span> from <span class=\"hps\">Leeudoringstad<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Northwest.<\/span> A farmer was murdered and subsequent action by farmers resulted in the apprehension of the criminals when <span class=\"hps\">two<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">murderers<\/span> paid with their lives<span class=\"hps\">.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p> <span class=\"hps\">TAU<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">SA<\/span>&#8216;s <span class=\"hps\">Deputy<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">President<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and Chairman<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Safety Committee<\/span>, <span class=\"hps\">Mr<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">Henry<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Geldenhuys<\/span>, at the same time expressed his utmost dissatisfaction <span class=\"hps\">with<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">fact that<\/span> one of <span class=\"hps\">the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">murderers of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Mr<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">Johan van<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Rensburg<\/span> was <span class=\"hps\">apparently also convicted previously and sentenced to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">15<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">years in jail<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">for<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">armed<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">robbery<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">&#8220;<\/span>Something <span class=\"hps\">is<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">wrong<\/span> with <span class=\"hps\">the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">system<\/span> if <span class=\"hps\">convicted criminals are released on bail at an early stage<\/span> without being rehabilitated <span class=\"hps\">in society to continue with<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">their<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">evil.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">This<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">is<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">unacceptable to the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">community<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">reflects<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">a<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">blot on<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the state&#8217;s<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">criminal justice system<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">Penalties<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">should<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">be so severe<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">that<\/span> professional <span class=\"hps\">criminals serve long sentences preventing them from repeating their hideous crimes once released&#8221; <\/span>Mr <span class=\"hps\">Geldenhuys said<\/span>.&nbsp; <span class=\"hps\">Meanwhile<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Mr<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">Geldenhuys is also<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">concerned about<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">rumors<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">that<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">farmers<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">might<\/span> have to stand trial <span class=\"hps\">for<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">murder<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and even<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">be<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">arrested<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">&#8220;<\/span>They <span class=\"hps\">only protected their own people and community, which they did successfully.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">To<\/span> prosecute <span class=\"hps\">those people<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">will<\/span> send <span class=\"hps\">completely wrong<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">message to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">criminals<\/span>.<span class=\"hps\">&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <span class=\"hps\">&#8220;<\/span>This incident <span class=\"hps\">has<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">proved that<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">rural<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">communities<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">can<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">be<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">highly effective<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">when they<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">are organized<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">their own farm watch with<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">their<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">communications and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">response capabilities<\/span>. <span class=\"hps\">TAU SA encourages farmers to continue to organize themselves in farm watch structures<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">for their<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">own safety.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TLU SA wil die boere van Leeudoringstad in Noordwes gelukwens met hulle optrede wat daartoe gelei het dat twee moordenaars van \u2018n boer self met hulle lewe daarvoor moes boet. &nbsp;
