In Garies and Strydenburg farmers\u2019 unions have been established and in several of the towns there are great receptivity to such structures.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn Springbok we talked to local organisations about the large-scale poaching of succulents in the Namaqualand, we were also in Porterville in the Western Cape for a regional conference,\u201d Roux said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a busy week and there were several points that stood out for me. It was heart-warming to see the gratitude for the help provided by TLU SA\u2019s Trauma Fund. We ask that people please continue to donate where possible, everything is handed out and nothing is withheld.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Roux, it was clear that people had a need to know that they are not alone and that the country’s inhabitants stood behind them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Trauma Fund is very important to TLU SA. We want to help as much as possible, but to assist our people in need, we also need help.\u201d<\/p>\n

New members were also recruited in various areas.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople want to be involved and that is why we have recruited 17 new members with Presidential membership. This membership is for the farmers in disaster areas who cannot currently afford to pay membership fees. It is important for TLU SA to give all farmers who want to be involved the opportunity. We don\u2019t want anyone to stand on the sideline.\u201d<\/p>\n
Several parts of the Northern Cape received good rainfall and it was great to see how wonderful nature looks.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had good rainfall in certain areas, and we are grateful for that. However, there are still regions that are suffering from disaster conditions. We pray for them,\u201d Roux added.<\/p>\n
