TLU SA notes with shock the enormous losses caused by the floods in the country, but particular in KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are some losses that will never be recovered,\u201d said Mr Mauritz Lombard, TLU SA Manager: Policy Liaison.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe damages to private property and infrastructure will have an impact on the whole country. TLU SA expresses condolences to those who have lost family and friends. At the same time, we wish everyone involved in the recovery operations and rebuilding of infrastructure strength for this important task.\u201d<\/p>\n
TLU SA also expressed its hope that operations will resume, and infrastructure will be restored soon.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is of critical importance that this is done with transparency where priorities must be assigned, such as with the repairing of roads. Where government assistance is allocated, control over funds is of utmost importance. No corruption may take place and the government must put everything in place to prevent corruption. People who have lost loved ones and those who have suffered other losses may not suffer because of corruption as well. They must receive the full benefits,\u201d Mr Lombard emphasised.<\/p>\n
TLU SA encourages those who want to help to give funds or necessities to those who can be give accountability, to ensure that all is done above board; that the funds and necessities go where they are needed.<\/p>\n
