Protect Our Agricultural Land: Secure Our Future

TLU SA has noted with great concern the increasing number of mining applications targeting agricultural land. This development has serious implications for the sustainability of our agriculture and the future of food production in South Africa.

Mining activities, such as gas extraction, have a direct impact on the availability of agricultural land. They lead to the pollution of water sources and the destruction of ecosystems, which are essential for a healthy agricultural sector. This is not only a threat to current farmers but also to future generations who rely on this land for food and livelihood.

Agricultural land is the foundation of our food production, and TLU SA calls on the government to take immediate action to protect this valuable resource.
