TLU SA acknowledges and appreciates the media professionals who have made exceptional contributions in 2024 by conveying our core message of economic sustainability in agriculture. We believe that economic sustainability is the cornerstone on which the future of agriculture must be built. It involves not only the sustainable use of natural resources but also creating an environment in which farmers can survive financially, grow, and thrive despite challenging circumstances such as climate change, policy uncertainties, and volatile markets.
It is therefore essential for TLU SA to continuously bring the economic principles that ensure sustainability to the attention of the public and policymakers. We work to support farmers by providing clear direction on sustainable farming practices, cost management measures, and the preservation of agricultural land for future generations. These principles are at the heart of TLU SA’s message and are key to a healthy agricultural economy that benefits the entire country.
The media plays a critical role in promoting this message, and we are grateful for their efforts in communicating TLU SA’s vision to the broader society. During our annual media event, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the media members who have helped communicate TLU SA’s stance over the past year.
This year, we are proud to introduce the TLU SA Sunflower Award for Excellence in Agricultural Journalism. This award honours a journalist who has highlighted the principles of economic sustainability in agriculture in an outstanding way.
We are also proud to announce the five nominees for the 2024 TLU SA Sunflower Award for Excellence in Agricultural Journalism:
