Following a highly successful Goliat van Gat Pumpkin Festival in March this year, preparations are now underway for the next Goliat van Gat 2027 season.
Planting time for the Goliat van Gat Pumpkin Growing Competition and Festival, which will take place on 13 March 2027 at Lavender Kontrei Market in Pretoria, is just around the corner. Seeds, advice and support for the new season are now available. Become part of our pumpkin-growing community and enjoy the fun, challenges and excitement of this unique competition.

The Cullinan Farmers’ Union (TLU SA) hosts the Goliat van Gat Pumpkin Festival. All pumpkins weighed in at the festival are donated to welfare organisations for distribution to communities in need.
There are also attractive cash prizes for the ten heaviest pumpkins, as well as several other competitions, including the heaviest squash, marrow, watermelon, tomato and other vegetable categories.
You are also invited to enter your most beautiful, ugliest and most original pumpkin – all in support of a worthy cause.
