Labour
Labour is one of the most important elements of a farmer’s business, but South Africa’s history and consequent restrictive labour legislation often make it a major challenge in farming. In particular, the minimum wage and its annual adjustments threaten the profitability of farming. TLU SA is therefore outspoken about these labour issues and provides guidance to its members on their proper management, while also striving to make the government realise the futility of these measures through constitutional processes.
