“As mnr.
“Mnr.
TAU SA will continue its’ international awareness campaigns
President Jacob Zuma should rather focus on solving the scourge of farm murders instead of allowing his diplomatic staff to make emotional outbursts.
TAU SA’s Assistant General Manager: Communications, Mr Henk van de Graaf, has returned from a visit to Geneva where he presented the issue of farm murders at the UN Human Rights Committee‘s Forum on Minority Issues.
“If Mr Zuma and his government would have done their duty in terms of the Constitution, by inter alia, to protect farmers against physical annihilation, we would not have needed to go to draw the world‘s attention to this situation, ” said Mr van de Graaf after he and the management team of TAU thoroughly studied the speech of Ms. Tsholofelo Tsheole, South Africa’s Permanent Representative, at the same conference.
“Mr. Zuma will have to clarify whether he and his ANC government are prepared to commit themselves to solving these farm murders. This will also be a first step towards responsible government contrary to continuing with the “struggle” by responding to factual evidence with emotional outbursts. South Africa’s image has been properly ridiculed in the eyes of the international community.
“The SA representative’s recommendation to the UN that stricter selection and screening should apply to minority institutions which may be represented is not only a slap in the face of South African minorities, but also to minorities of other parts of the world. It also emphasizes that the Zuma government essentially just practices lip service to minorities and that it is not serious about also the Constitutional rights which are supposed to protect minorities,” said Mr. van de Graaf.
TAU SA’s General Manager, Mr. Bennie van Zyl said that until Mr. Zuma and his government will fulfill their duty to the agricultural community, TAU SA will continue with this type of international awareness campaigns.
